Jazz Age

For the past few weeks, I’ve been debating on moving away from New York. I’m pretty sure the only possible relationship to have with Manhattan is a love-hate one, and it can be hard to find the magic between overpriced bars, gentrified neighborhoods, and hoards of tourists. But then I get to go to something like the Jazz Age Lawn Party, which introduces me to a whole different part of the city (have I really never been to Governors Island before?) in a way that’s simultaneously full of excitement and nostalgia.

The music and performances, above all, were fantastic. While my Charleston may be a little rusty, I’ll just have to do my best to brush up on my moves for next year.

  1. Cool! But seriously, there is *nothing* wrong with moving to the Jersey shore. If I could live anywhere in the world, that’s where it would be. And you’re still not far from the big city stuff.
